Faces of Our Seacoast: Closing the Distance Between Us

Real talk: social distancing with our families is not easy. We are tired, anxious, in need of space from our families, and missing our friends. Yet, there are lots of bright lights in this challenging time. From videos that make us laugh, to people pitching in where they can — we are all doing our very best.

We need to remember this time. Enter, Faces of Our Seacoast (#facesofourseacoast)

When we saw Cara Soulia’s (photographer from Needham, MA) #TheFrontStepsProject, we knew we had to get involved. So, we reached out to local photographer Lindsay Fairchild and Faces of the Seacoast was born.

Lindsay suggested starting the Front Steps Project here on the Seacoast but asking participants to hold a message for the outside world. We started recruiting Seacoast photographers to help us.

One thing is for certain: our Seacoast is thriving in spirit, even in the midst of social distancing.

As photographers collected these portraits, we asked participants to donate to local organizations serving our community. We are raising money for Gather, Families First, Fair Tide, Footprints Food Pantry, and Dover Children’s Home. Visit each photographer’s gallery for more information on the organization they picked and the people they captured.

Will you partner with us and support these organizations? Follow the links above- any amount is welcome!

*during this entire campaign, photographers kept their social distance. After the stay-at-home order was issued by Governor Sununu, the project halted in NH.
